About Us

Ellie Walking Stanley

What we do.

Pawlandias makes homemade dog toys, cat toys and dog treats. We are working to create a doggy daycare that will employ people with special needs. Money earned from our sales goes towards this mission.

Why we do it.

Ellie, who has Prader-Willi Syndrome and Autism, is the inspiration and founding member of Pawlandias, dreams of opening a doggy daycare when she is older. Our family is working towards making that dream a reality. Pawlandias will create employment for Ellie, and others with special needs, in our community. Every purchase helps us towards this goal.

Where did the name come from?

The concept of Pawlandias was born from the book Weslandia. In this story, a boy name Wesley, is an outcast in his school and community. He just doesn’t fit in with the other kids. Wesley decided to spend his summer break creating his own community in the backyard. He grew his own crops, made his own food and created his own language, games and clothes. Soon the other kids noticed. Then they wanted to know more about Weslandia and before he knew it, everyone wanted to be a part of his community. He created a place where everyone belonged and this is exactly what Pawlandias envisions for our community. Ellie, one of the founders of Pawlandias, has Prader-Willi Syndrome and Autism. She is amazing with animals and is working, with her family, to run a pet centered business. She is starting with dog/cat toys and treats and plans to run a doggy daycare in the future. Pawlandias’ mission is to create a place where Ellie, and others with special needs, can find meaningful employment in their community.
